Resources

No man can handle every situation in life by themselves. That's just ridiculous.

Our Peer Support Network is here to help you face-to-face with whatever you may be struggling with or want to talk about. BUT, you may also be looking for professional resources. We're compiling a list of resources for men to use when they're ready to seek out more help.

Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

If you are feeling suicidal, or have a friend who is threatening self-harm, please DO NOT WAIT. Call 911 for emergency services locally, or Call or Text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (formerly called the National Suicide Prevention Hotline).

We also have the 988 website linked at the top of the website on the "I Need Help Right Now" button.

The button below is linked to the 988 Lifeline website with even more options to talk, chat, text, and additional options for the hearing impaired. https://988lifeline.org/

Safe Call Now offers these individuals a confidential and straightforward way to seek help for a wide range of issues. Staffed by current and former first responders, Safe Call Now is a safe place to turn where they can connect with and receive support from trained staff who understand the demands of their careers. Our trained peer advocates provide assistance, resources, and support to any first responder and their families who are experiencing a crisis or need someone to listen.

Addiction, Trauma, and PTSD Treatment

Promises runs a number of centers across the US, including one in PA, along with a 24/7 hotline, for mental health services and treatment for addiction and substance abuse. Many men with trauma and PTSD turn to alcohol and drugs to "numb" the real cause of the problem. Promises can help you work through all of that and get to the root of the issue, and is covered by most insurances.
